Every year, the three buildings of the academy are transformed into 5,800 square metres of exhibition space. Through their graduation projects, this year’s graduates present their work, establish their position within their respective disciplines and reflect on their relationship with the world around them. The exhibition marks the start of a new phase in their journeys as artists and designers.

The Graduation Show presents a wide range of works and approaches, including film, sculpture, graphic design, writing, drawing, sound, painting, photography, fashion and more. Alongside the exhibition, there will be an extensive public programme of performances.

Visitors will also find a shop featuring creations by Rietveld graduates, with proceeds going directly to the artists or being donated to a cause of their choice. Adjacent to the shop is the thesis presentation, where you can explore the theses put forward by supervisors from each department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. This curated selection highlights the many ways in which theory and artistic practice intersect, revealing the ideas and questions that students have explored throughout their studies.
